What we look at
To do its job, Tab Cleaner reads basic information about your open tabs — titles, URLs, domains, and tab IDs. It only touches this to show your open tabs, spot duplicates, and let you close the ones you don't need.
No user data collection
Tab Cleaner doesn't collect or capture user data. It never gathers personal information, browsing history, passwords, login credentials, form entries, page content, files, or anything else sensitive.
Memory info, shown locally
Where your browser makes it available, Tab Cleaner reads memory-usage figures for each tab so you can spot which ones are eating up resources. That number stays on your screen.
Everything happens locally
All of Tab Cleaner's work runs inside your own browser. None of the tab information it reads is uploaded to, stored on, or processed by a Tab Cleaner server, because there isn't one handling it.
No backend, period
No tab URLs, titles, browsing activity, or memory data ever leaves your browser to reach our servers. We don't have a channel for that, because we don't run a backend that receives this information.
Nothing stored externally
Tab Cleaner doesn't store your browsing data on any external server, and doesn't hold on to website content, passwords, credentials, form data, personal files, or browsing history in any form.
We don't share anything
We don't sell, rent, or share your information with third parties. Since nothing is collected or transmitted to a backend in the first place, there's no data to hand to anyone else.
We don't read your pages
Tab Cleaner doesn't inspect the content of the websites you visit for advertising, analytics, profiling, or tracking. Tab metadata like URLs and titles may be checked briefly and locally, only to spot duplicates and organize what's open.
No trackers, no analytics
Tab Cleaner doesn't use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services to collect your activity or data.
Security notes
Because nothing is sent to a backend, your tab information stays within your browser the whole time the extension is working. We take reasonable care to keep it secure, though no software can promise absolute security.
